How do you cook rice in the Pasta Boat?
Yes, I know that I am answering my own question, but I thought that this might help someone! I was looking today for instructions on cooking rice in the Pasta Boat. After researching several different answers, this is what I finally ended up doing. I took 1 PKG of Family Size Saffron Rice, which is 2 1/2 cups - 16 oz. - 1 lb I just put it into the pasta boat, no rinsing or soaking. 6 Cups of Hot Tap Water (Hot to help mix things up better) 2 TBL of Cooking Oil Stir Well. After stopping and testing the rice several times I finally ended up cooking it a total of 33 Minutes. I stirred the rice once before it began to boil and once again after it had been boiling for a while. Once it stopped boiling and began to swell up and absorb the water, I didn't stir it again at all. I thought the rice was done at 30 Min, but my friend liked it better at 33 Min. Use your own judgement, Microwaves vary. I was worried that the Saffron might have stained the Pasta Boat or that It might have cooked onto it, but, after cooking, I soaked the Pasta Boat in Hot Water and Dawn, Came clean very easily. I took three Large Spoonfuls of the rice, added a can of drained chicken, 3 eggs, some cooking oil and fried it all up to make Chicken Fried Rice for lunch. Came out Great and was super easy! Still have tons of Saffron rice for a Side dish for dinner. I love my Pasta Boat! The more I try to do with it the more it amazes me! Hope this helped someone!
